How to Visualize and Affirm Your Deepest DesiresIt's been a long time since I played basketball. But I have a passion for it. Everyday I would think that I am making jump shots from every angle of the court. Then I would also imagine that I've won the championship, that I'm also the highest scorer in the game. I would really love to play again, but I'm too busy with my job & other stuffs.
Then the opportunity came when my friends invited me to play. I haven't been practicing, but I'm making more accurate shots than those who have been playing every day.
What made the difference?
Well, that's the power of imagination & visualization. If you want to be a lawyer, visualize as one. Act like one. Think of what suit you`re wearing, the judge you`re convincing, the case you're handling, and the courtroom you`re in. Visualize the evidences. Smell the victory. Make everything real.
You should also affirm. Believe that you are what you are visualizing. So you want to be a lawyer? Tell yourself, "I'm the best lawyer in the world." Don't say to yourself, "I will be the best lawyer in the world."
Affirm strongly. Say "I am," not "I will," because "I will" suggests something that will occur only in the future. You have to experience it NOW, not in the future.
You must sink into your subconscious your deepest desire. The subconscious mind can do what the conscious mind cannot.
Here's an exercise.
1. Get a comfortable & quiet place to rest.
2. Relax your whole body. Command every part of your body to relax starting from your feet up to your head.
3. Count back slowly from 20 to 1, where in each count you relax deeper & deeper. Upon reaching 1, you are completely relaxed.
4. Now affirm your deepest desire. If you want to be a lawyer, say," I am the greatest lawyer in the world." As you're saying that, picture yourself to be the best lawyer ever, winning every case you've come across. You may say "I am now explaining to the jury my winning proposition" or anything that will affirm what you're conceiving in your mind as of the moment.
5. After about 10 to 20 minutes of continuous confirmation and visualization, count slowly from 1 to 20. Upon counting, slowly be aware of your surroundings. Feel refreshed and invigorated after doing this exercise.
6. Repeat this exercise everyday.
What you have just learned is a very powerful technique to greatly enhance the power of visualization & affirmation by imbedding it into the subconscious. What once is nearly impossible to achieve will become easier to reach from now on.

The Art of Space ClearingEfficiency does not only require a dynamic person, but an organized use of space as well. In your home and office, it will be extremely useful to maintain a good habit of clearing the place. After all, a spacious (or at least seemingly spacious) and well-maximized room helps ease the workload from your shoulder.
In designing and organizing your rooms and workspaces, here are a few elements that you could work on.
Color
Red, orange and other related hues create an illusion of warmth and small space, which people usually do not like. So for a cooler and more spacious look, it is preferable to choose among the hues of blue to green.
But in playing with colors, you may also have to consider the task of maintaining a good color combination among walls, windows, curtains, and furniture. In that case, light colors, especially those related to white (mother of pearl, ecru, ivory, beige and taupe) are easier to match with home and office decorations.
Size
While it is generally useful to have a roomy space, having such amenity may become a burden since it compromises communication among inhabitants of the house or members of the office. Most importantly, it may demand huge amounts to purchase and maintain.
Meanwhile, little spaces may be organized to create illusions of space. Furthermore, well-placed cabinets and shelves may serve various purposes: as space dividers, as decorations, and as file organizers.
Ambience
An intelligent manipulation of lighting and home decorations is the most important element in providing a good ambience. Yellow lighting generally contributes to the coziness of a place, as well as a lot of sofas, floor cushions, candles, native ornaments, smoked glass windows, and light wooden furniture. On the other hand, white fluorescent bulbs and a lot of plastic and metals (steel chairs, synthetic decors, glass windows and Formica tabletops) make for a busy-looking office. Meanwhile, pastel colors and cartooned wallpapers provide for an innocent, child-like look perfect for relaxing.
Utility
In organizing space, especially for an office, the other elements may have to be compromised for utility. Excessive decorations are generally not advisable since they interfere with the workflow. Furniture must be limited to filing cabinets, tables, and chairs.
At home, utility is to be observed as well. While keeping some memorabilia may be healthy, it will be helpful to get rid of old possessions that only accumulate dust and serve no purpose at all aside from becoming the breeding ground of insects. For example, old stuffed toys, old books, and newspapers add to the clutter. We could just donate them to people who need them more.

Success - Why Action Achieves Results!
Success in any entrepreneurial endeavor is contingent on a simple truth: Learning does not always require thinking.
Actually, thinking often hinders learning. Hinders learning? That flies in the face of most of what we know, doesn't it? As children we were often reproached when we made mistakes: "You just weren't thinking! Don't you ever think about what you're doing?"
Then there's the most successful personal development book of all time telling us to do what? ...That's right, "Think and Grow Rich". True it is a fantastic book and a must read for success minded people. But many of us get so tangled in thoughts that we can't get out of our "heads" and take the action required for success.
Socrates, one of the greatest "thinkers" of all time, said, "Action equals knowledge." Action, not thinking, is how we achieve results. Take playing the piano for instance. We could think about playing the piano but we will never become better until we start pecking away at the keys. If you were to ask an accomplished pianist to think about what they are playing in the middle of a rapturous concert, the music would probably fall apart into a series of painfully disconnected notes.
Same is true with typing. Ask a person who flawlessly types over 70 words a minute to think about the key strokes, and you could probably watch the mistakes pile up. Thinking hinders execution. Thinking can hinder success. The fact of the matter is we can intellectualize all we want, but until we take action we will never accomplish anything.
There is a mantra in the martial arts that says "Ready, Fire, Aim". Simply put, this means take action and correct that action as you go. It is quite probable that many businesses never get out of the starting gate because of over-thinking and over analyzing. Most people want all their ducks to be lined up in a row before they begin. This will never happen. The time will never be perfect. The key is to get started and then "keep on keeping on."
In the martial arts, students practice moves over and over and over again. They train their bodies to transcend thought and take action in the moment. Imagine a trained martial artist getting attacked on the street thinking, "Hmm, okay I'm being attacked. Should I turn my body this way or should it be the other way? Okay, now I have to trap the assailments arms, tighten my fists, pull back, and strike."
Of course this is not what happens in the martial arts. The key teaching in the martial arts is to ACT. NOW! ...In spite of the mind's tenancy to analyze the situation.
The worst kind of thinking is fear of failure. The "What if" disease. "What if I fail? What if people laugh at me? What if I lose all my money? What if, what if, what if?
Fear is paralyzing. It stops the movement necessary for success. Fear weakens our resolve, cripples our creativity, and ultimately stagnates our successes. Conversely, movement overcomes fear. When struck by fear, move. Do something!
So, don't wait to explore your entrepreneurial spirit; take action now. When those pesky thoughts creep up, and they will, scare them away with the mantra, "Don't think, don't think, don't think, don't think..." and watch your dreams and goals cascade toward you.
What is the bottom line? "Don't think and grow rich."

Many people, particularly students, would love to be
able to absorb information faster. But before retaining
information, they have to go through the first stage of
learning, which is reading.
For many individuals who are pressed for time, speed
reading has become a necessity. However, it's not just
the reading part that is important. Equally essential
is for the reader to fully understand the words coming
out from the book or paper.
Here are some great tips to read and comprehend faster.
1) Relax.
If you're in the stressed mode, it would be much more
difficult to concentrate; hence, it would just be a lot
harder for the information to sink in.
2) Know what you want.
Focus on the areas that you really need to learn. Some
people read all parts of a book, when all they need to
know is a specific chapter.
Know your priority. If you need to find out about a
certain subject, go to the Table of Contents and search
for the heading that best suits your need. If you need
to learn more, then adjust accordingly. The important
thing is to weed out the stuffs that you don't
currently need.
3) Get rid of the structure words.
Did you know that around 60% of the words we read are
structure words? Examples are the words "the, or, and."
They are essential in the structure of the sentences;
but when you ignore them, they basically mean the same
thing. They only serve to beautify, yet you can
understand what you are reading even without them. Try
not to focus too much attention on structure words.
4) Practice, practice, practice.
When I started exercising with weights, I can only lift
the lighter ones. As the time goes by, I slowly add more
and more weights as my body tends to adjust and become
more comfortable carrying heavier ones.
The same concept goes for speed reading. Set a goal.
Figure out how fast you can read, then create a plan to
increase your ability.
If you can read 200 words per minute, set a goal to
read 250 words a minute. After accomplishing this feat,
set a goal to read 300 words per minute.
This takes time and practice, but the effort is all
worth it. If this is your first time to set such a
goal, read first those materials you are familiar with.
Carry on with more difficult ones as you progress. This
way, you're not overwhelming yourself with understanding
different new words and at the same time developing your
speed reading skills.
