Daily Devotionals Help Start Your Day off Right

Daily Devotionals Help Start Your Day off Right

Some say an apple a day keeps the doctor away. Many Christians will tell you spending time with God first thing in the morning will keep the gloomies away. No one will dispute that there is no substitute for spending time in the Word of God, in your Bible. However, if you just have a few quickie moments in the morning before your children wake up or before you scoot off to the office, reading out of a daily devotional book may be just what you need to get your day started right!
Go to any bookstore, online or off, and you will find a plethora of daily devotionals. It can be very overwhelming. There are also a number of online sources where you can get daily inspirations sent directly to your in-box. You should have at least one devotions book in print. Doing so will give you a chance to sit quietly away from the computer. You may have a spot at the kitchen table or in your comfy chair in the living room or perhaps you feel like the only alone time you ever get is in the bathroom. Take your book where you can give the text and God your undivided attention.
Listed below are merely a few examples of some of the devotional books available. All have been personally recommended by readers who are currently using and enjoying them.
Rick Renner's Sparkling Gems from the Greek is a daily devotional that has one Greek word study for every day of the year; with hundreds more word studies in addition to the 365 primary ones. It's much more than a devotional - it's a study tool that you will want to refer to over and over again.
Journey by Lifeway is a monthly women's devotional magazine that offers guidance for a growing, personal relationship with God. Each weekday devotion deals with issues and real-life situations. Features include: a daily key verse, devotional vignette, personal application, and suggested prayer focus; monthly messages from popular author and speaker Beth Moore; and other inspirational articles. Available in monthly subscriptions.

People use Daily Guideposts to deepen their relationship with God and strengthen their faith. Each year has a different theme; 2005’s theme of "Rejoicing in Hope" contains inspiring, thought-provoking and comforting daily devotional stories. A prayer and daily Scripture reference are included for further meditation or Bible study.
The Our Daily Bread devotional published RBC Ministries is an effective resource for those who desire constant awareness of God’s Word and its significance in the life of the believer. Available at many restaurants and grocery stores.
Rise & Shine by Liz Curtis Higgs overflows with the best of Liz’s early writings, gleaned from her columns in Today’s Christian Woman and seven nonfiction titles. This devotional contains daily Scripture verses, simple prayers, and gentle reminders of God’s love and is packed with poignant stories, honest humor, and biblical lessons.
As mentioned above, there are so many more excellent daily devotional books to read. The purpose of this article is to encourage you to dust off the one sitting on your shelf, or to pick up a new one and start each new tomorrow with a fresh perspective. Enjoy!

The Real Secret to Earth Shattering Power and Influence

The Real Secret to Earth Shattering Power and Influence

Abraham Lincoln, Mahatma Ghandi, John Kennedy, Martin Luther King, and Mother Teresa. A few of the names you would no doubt be familiar with because they were movers and shakers. Why is that? How did they get to such a position?
We have all heard the phrase "God helps those that help themselves." Some have taken this to mean that to try things on your own elicits support from invisible powers. Others use it as an excuse to be selfish when called on to lend a hand.
It is good to help yourself, but that is small potatoes to actually sublimating that ability to the service of others. To go further and actually turn that ideal into a mission, well, the invisible powers evoked then are going to be ever more powerful, and the greater the mission, the greater the powers that will not be able to resist coming to your aid, for you will be aiding humankind and the world.
That last sentence was a pretty big one describing a pretty big plan, and the bigger the goal, the bigger you become. It's just that simple a concept, although the task you take on may be anything but!
Do you want to be a Martin Luther King or do you want to be a king? Mother Teresa did not necessarily care about helping the extremely poor at first, but she wanted to be like Jesus. He was the role model that moved her to a life lived for others. A king or ruler is also a servant to others.
Greatness is measured by the greatest good to the greatest number of people. Aspire to help others and you may spiral to lofty heights, especially as regards to fame in the political arena if you do not mind the possibility of getting assassinated as did four of the five personalities mentioned in the first sentence of this report. And even Mother Teresa's role model did not escape this risk from rattled suppressives.
So there you have the secret of earth shattering power and influence, with a warning that there is a dark side.
That will not deter you though, because you will be putting others before yourself. You will be wielding great power through your convictions, tempered by your humility. A force for balance, willing to endure the strain of imbalance by focusing on an outcome of making the world a better place, even if not in your short lifetime.
That of course is what makes heroism and martyrdom so big. You either risk or give up the thing about you that is perishable, for a thing that can live well beyond scant carnate years. This thing so worth dying for is called Honor. Those who say you cannot take anything with you when you go, know not of it.
Honor can even be born in the middle of disgrace. That happens after history comes around to seeing that you were not only right, but had the courage to stick to a better idea rather than giving in to conformity. You will then have changed the world and influenced generations and generations to come.

The Top 20 Things You Can Do to Make Your Website Accessible

The Top 20 Things You Can Do to Make Your Website Accessible

In 1990, the Americans with Disabilities Act was passed by Congress. The law was designed to protect people with disabilities from being discriminated against, because of a physical or mental disability. The act was put into place to help guarantee equal opportunity for people with disabilities in any public area – and it covers regulations for employment, transportation, state and local government services, telecommunications, etc.

But what about your Website? Have you done all you can, to assure that your Website is accessible? Here is a checklist you can use, to determine if your Website is as accessible as it could be. (Note: These actions vary from fairly simple to complex, and this list is not meant to be considered the only options or actions you can take to make your site more accessible).

1. Have you provided a text equivalent for every non-text element on your site? Non-text elements include: images, graphical representations of text (including symbols), animations (including animated GIFs), image map areas, programmatic objects and applets, ASCII art, scripts, spacers, frames, images used for list bullets, buttons, sounds (whether automatic or by user interaction), video, audio tracks of video and stand alone audio files.

2. Have you ensured that any information conveyed with color is also available without it?

3. Are changes in the natural language of all pages on your Website and any text equivalents (such as captions) clearly identified?

4. Are all documents on your Website organized so that they can be read without style sheets?

5. Do you update all equivalents for dynamic content every time you update the dynamic content itself?

6. Have you eliminated any special effects from your Website that cause the screen to flicker?

7. Are you using clear and simple language in all content placed on your Website?

8. If you use images and image maps, are you providing redundant text links for each active region of your server-side image map?

9. If you use images and image maps, are you providing client-side image maps (instead of server-side) whenever possible?

10. When using data tables, have you identified the row and column headers?

11. If you use frames, have you titled each frame to make it easier for users to navigate your site and identify the frames?

12. When using applets and scripts, have you made sure that the pages are useable when all programmatic objects are not supported, or turned off? (If that isn’t possible, have you provided the information on an alternative accessible page?)

13. When using multimedia, have you provided an auditory description of the most important visual information on a multimedia presentation?

14. When using any time-based multimedia presentation (such as a movie or animation), have you synchronized the equivalent alternatives such as captions or auditory descriptions of the visual track to the presentation?

15. Have you made sure that the background and foreground colors on your Website have enough contrast so that when someone with a color deficit looks at it (or your Website is viewed with a black and white screen) they can still read it clearly?

16. Have you clearly identified the target of each link?

17. Have you provided a place to get information about your site, either through the use of a site map, or table of contents?

18. Have you clearly identified the primary language of your Website?

19. Have you provided information so that users can choose how they want to receive documents – by content type, language, etc.)?

20. Have you provided summaries for all the tables on your site?

Here are some simple steps you can take that don’t require much work or technical ability: Graphs and Charts: When working with graphs and charts, make sure you’ve provided enough information that any graphs or charts aren’t needed to understand the article, but are just supplements to it. You can also use the “alt” tag to provide information about them. Image Maps: Provide alternative text anywhere that the user must click on your Website, so that if they’ve turned off the graphics, or can’t view them, they can still understand what your site is about and can navigate around it. (Note: This method still doesn’t work with all browsers, but at least you’re trying!) Tables: When working with headers, use the “th” attribute so that users with a visual impairment can hear the table headers from their screen reader. Hypertext Links: When using hypertext links, use text that will make sense when a screen reader reads allowed to a visually impaired user. Bold Face When writing your sales copy, use the “em” instead of the “b” tag. By using the emphasis tag, a screen reader’s tone will change, adding emphasis to what is on the screen. If you use a bold tag, the screen reader can’t recognize the change, and all of the copy will be read in the same tone. Multimedia (Video, applets, and Plug-ins): Try and provide alternatives when using multimedia. If you’re using streaming video for example, which has sounds or dialog, your two best options would be to either provide closed-captioning for the video or provide a text version for the dialogue. (This actually helps non-visually impaired viewers who have dial up instead of DSL, or for the times when the amateur video sound quality is poor. When you use applets or plug-ins, look for alternative methods of presenting information such as text links, without relying on the applet or plug-in for navigating around your Webpages.

So, how do you know if your Website meets the accessibility guidelines? You can use the Bobby Program. “Bobby” is a free Java-based program that searches through your Website to check its accessibility. Although it can’t analyze page content, it can analyze coding and the readability of your Website. If you’re interested in finding out how accessible your Website is already considered to be, you can go to: http://webxact.watchfire.com/

10 Ways to Save and Make More Money in Business

10 Ways to Save and Make More Money in Business

Don’t you just love Paul Simon? The lyrics to his songs are not only pleasing to the ears, but can be inspirational. Imagine yourself enjoying the warm autumn sunlight while listening to Paul's song, “50 Ways to Leave your Lover”. Now, stretch your imagination just a bit and think about how many "Ways" you can come up with for saving and/or making more money in business...

“The problem is all inside your head She said to me The answer is easy If you take it logically”
So, let’s look at the problem logically for a minute. Here are four basic ways you can increase your profits:
1. You can charge more for your products or services.
2. You can sell more of your products or services to your existing clients.
3. You can find additional clients.
4. You can find ways to cut back on your business expenses.

"Slip Out the Back, Jack" (Simple ways to save money):

So, if you’re on a shoestring budget (and who isn’t these days?), then obviously you need to do everything you can to save as much money as possible, and make as much money as possible, as quickly and easily as possible. Here are 10 simple ideas you can use:

1. Know your target market. Who are your “ideal” customers? Where do they shop? What do they read? What solutions are they looking for that your business provides? The more you know about your customers, the better you’ll be able to target your promotions towards them, which will increase your bottom line two ways – it will save you spending money on advertising that doesn’t work, and it will increase your sales, because you’re offering your customers what they really want.

2. Get double duty out of any contact with your customers. If you sell products, put your contact information on everything –products, bags, invoices sales receipts. Make it easy for everyone to find you. Give away something free. If you have a Website (and if you don’t, then get one), give your customers something for giving you their contact information. Free Ebooks, reports, or software are all good choices (just make sure it’s relevant to your customers). Anytime you send your customers anything – a product, a newsletter, an invoice –include a coupon or information about your latest products or services. To save money on postage, if you have a brick and mortar store, put a copy of your latest newsletter or an informational flyer in your customer’s bag after each sale.

3. Reward your customers. Set up a reward program. Offer them a reward for anyone they refer who becomes a customer. Or give your customers a free gift when they spend $50 (or whatever amount makes sense in your business). When they’re eligible for the free gift, offer them an upgrade to something bigger or better for a few dollars more. Start a customer loyalty program. Provide “customer only” sales, or promotions. Let your customers earn points, or “magic money” that they can use to redeem your products or services.

4. Get ready for your close-up. When you’re brainstorming about creating a promotion or advertising campaign, don’t forget about your local cable TV channel. You may be pleasantly surprised by how low their rates actually are. Create your own television commercial or infomercial. Although you may not be ready for prime time, you can still target your ad to reach your customers.

5. Get involved in your community. Find a nonprofit organization that is doing work you believe in, and either publicly support their program, or be one of their sponsors for an upcoming event or fundraiser. Use the advertising spot to let people know about the fundraiser (and, incidentally, your business). You could put together an inexpensive ad campaign that will help those in need, increase your visibility and let your potential customers know that you're supportive and aware of the needs of the community.

“Make a new plan, Stan” (Business Planning Basics):

6. Beef up your business plan. If you don’t have a business plan, make writing one a priority. Your business plan is more than just a way to interest investors. It’s a road map that will help you get from where you are now to where you want to be. That old saying, “If you fail to plan then you’re planning to fail” really is true when it comes to business.

"No need to be coy, Roy" (Ask your customers):

7. Get testimonials from your satisfied clients. But don’t stop there. What about creating your own television commercial that you can run in your store? (With a video camera and a little ingenuity, you could even create your own infomercial that shows customers how to use or get the most out of your products or services. If you’ve got a Website, put an audio testimonial on there. (And don’t forget to include pictures).

8. Speak up. Again, keeping in mind who your ultimate ideal customers are and what their most pressing problems are, write an article, offer a free seminar, or offer to be a speaker at local chamber of commerce or other organization or community meetings. Being perceived as an “expert” is a relatively easy and inexpensive way to get the word out about your business, and bring in more customers.

"Just hop on the bus, Gus" (Expand your business potential)

9. Create joint ventures. Even if your primary business is a brick and mortar one, you can still create a joint venture that will help you save money by sharing the costs for advertising. What about creating a special “sidewalk sale” with other business owners on your street or in your neighborhood? Or finding businesses with complementary products or services to yours, and creating a “package deal”? If your business is only online, look for ways you can partner with other businesses – maybe you could create solo ads and promote each other’s products or services in your mailing lists. There are a lot of ways you can save money and increase your client base if you’re willing to get creative.

"Just drop off the key, Lee" (Provide the key solutions)

10. Let your customers know you know what their problems are. It's sad but true that your customers don't care how good your products or services are. They only want to know two things: do you understand what their problems are; and can you solve them. Give your customers the "key" to their problems, and you'll have evangelistic customers who come back again and again.

Free Website Promotion...Why Not?

Free Website Promotion...Why Not?

Can you ever avail of free website promotion? Is that even feasible?

Of course yes! Nowadays, your baby website can amass huge traffic in no time thanks to free website promotion.

How does this free website promotion go anyway? What are things to be done?

1. Enlist your website.

Look for the hottest Internet directories and enlist your site there. This is the easiest and most effective free website promotion tactic. Start with this step and the rest of the good things will follow.

Just don't forget to prep your website and make it all spruced up for a higher chance to get accepted in your directory of choice.

2. Know your forums.

One reason why forums are created is for free website promotion for everyone. Log in, post actively, let them know about your site in every post and you attract instant visitors right there.

3. Write a press release.

Release your writing prowess and start up a press release that advertises your site! This is a free website promotion tactic that you can do anytime. Type a brief paragraph or two and email it to your friends, colleagues, internet e-zines, newspapers and other media and massive traffic will come to you pronto!

4. Be friendly online.

Free website promotion means you need to be friendly to other webmasters. Why, you ask? So they can link you immediately! Establish contacts and never tire of link requests and exchanges.

5. Write an article.

Say, your website is about your travel agency. Write an article about the perks of traveling or the hottest travel spots in the world. On the concluding paragraph, mention your website in passing. This article works as an advertorial and doubles as a free website promotion approach.

6. Just let the whole world know about your site.

What is free website promotion without the word of mouth? Insert your website, its URL and features in daily conversations and let the good news spread from one mouth to another!

7. Make a banner ad.

Make a banner ad for your site and ask another webmaster to do the same for his site. Then swap!

8. Take up a free website promotion course online.

Yes, there are free website promotion tutorials. But don't you know that you can actually take a free website promotion course that can help you out further? Part of the free website promotion program is signing up for newsletters.

When you make a website, you need not pay anything to promote it. You just read it -- there is such a thing as free website promotion!

You Do Have an InfoProduct Inside You!

You Do Have an InfoProduct Inside You!

If you have been researching or involved in online business for very long, you have no doubt seen a multitude of offers for "eBooks", books, reports and training course on every subject imaginable.

Why? Because information is the hottest product on the market! (At the foundational level, it's actually the Only product, but that's another article.) Information cuts straight to the root of all selling, which is answering the customer's question: "What will this product do for me?"

There's another reason, though. Pure information is a product that doesn't require a huge financial overhead to produce, (other than the hard knocks you got in gaining the experience and information), and is easy and relatively low cost to deliver to the customer. That is what makes it such a great product for us, as entrepreneurs, to offer.
Everyone has life experience, training, and skills that others don't have. Everyone knows something that others want to know, or can do something that others want to learn. That's how I know you have an InfoProduct inside you, everyone does. Your first assignment is to decide which of your many gifts you are going to offer to the world!
Does that mean you have to be able to write a book? No. Not necessarily. I'm talking about what is known as USP...Unique Selling Position. Your USP might be that you have detailed knowledge about someone else's product that you are selling as an affiliate. It could be that humorous way you present the information you have collected on some subject of interest, or the fact that you offer the best customer service available for the service you offer. You may offer the same products that others are also selling, but find your own unique market for them.

But whatever you decide to use for your information product, your USP, you need to find one. If you were to research the online marketers who are honestly making the money they claim to be earning online, you would discover that they all have a USP. Your USP IS your product, however you package and deliver it.

If you are working a Multi-level Marketing program or one of the BIBs (Business in a Box), you are not left out of this concept, but you may have to work harder to figure out how to be unique. You can still go for the niche marketing idea. Find a group of people who aren't usually reached by these kinds of businesses, or aim your advertising at people in the countries that are just now going online.

You may, of course, actually write a book, eBook, or training course and sell it. Many are making good money doing just that. The list of helpful software and online publishers is growing every day. But even if you write your own product or design your own software, you will still need a well-thought-out USP to stand out in the crowd. It's like your business plan -- you need a firm foundation before you can build your future online success.

How to Become the Person of Your Dreams

How to Become the Person of Your Dreams

“What would you like to be when you grow up?” I bet you often hear this question asked many times when you were still young. But have you given this question some deep thoughts?

Different people have different dreams. So what’s your aspiration? Do you want to become a doctor, lawyer, pilot, or entertainer? Or would you want to be like Tom Cruise or Bill Gates? Let me tell you now, you can become what you want to become. You can be anything you want to be as long as you put your mind and heart to it.

Here are some tips and words of encouragement to keep you all fired up.

Learn as much as possible about the person you aspire to be. Let’s say you dream to become a basketball player. Gather all facts and information about the sport. Research on the internet, read books, watch the games and analyze team strategies; in other words, strive to be an expert.

You must have the desire and passion to know everything you can about the subject. If you can have a real person to imitate or look up to, the better. For example, you may see yourself as Michael Jordan (for basketball), Mariah Carey (for singing), or Heide Klum (for modeling). Feel, talk, and act as if you’re that person you’re emulating. You’ll quickly acquire the behavior and qualities of that person. This formula works like a charm, so just give it a try.

Take motivated action and start pursuing your dreams. Don’t wait for everything to be perfect. That will never happen. There will always be bumps and obstacles ahead. The important thing is to start right now and adjust along the way.

Persist until the very end. Never let failures distract you. Just keep pushing yourself to the limit. If you think that a task seems impossible to accomplish, banish that thought immediately. Your mind has the capacity to bring into reality anything you desire. As long as you stay focused and patient on your objective despite any setbacks or discouragements, you will become successful much sooner than you may think.

Two Proven Techniques that Successful People Do to Double or Triple Their Time in a Day

Two Proven Techniques that Successful People Do to Double or Triple Their Time in a Day

They say that time is much more important than wealth.  Most effective people think so. They know how to get more time in a day, and they have mastered the art of utilizing time effectively to do more productive things that contribute to their advancement or success. So how do they do it?

Proven Technique Number 1 - They delegate and assign simple routinary tasks to other people so that they can have more free time to do as they please.

This is very elementary but of great significance. If you have the money, hire people to do the housework, the repairing, and even some of your office jobs.  Let others do the research. But of course, you have to reward them accordingly so they will get motivated to render their services again.

You can then focus on the more important things in life, like planning and managing your activities.

Proven Technique Number 2 - They plan seriously.

The less time you think you have, the more critical it is for you to plan. By planning carefully, you’ll be able to manage your time better and avoid costly mistakes that eat up much more of your time.

You might say that you’re so busy you don’t even have time to plan.  Maybe you can insert some time planning while doing your other activities. The planning phase is very important in organizing your thoughts to carry out the desired effects.

You might say that this is boring stuff, but you should never underestimate this process.  This is like a guideline to steer you into the right direction.

Your plan will be your road map.  Spend enough time to ponder through the different approaches and activities, and you will soon realize that you can save a lot more time by doing this.

It will be best if you can choose a quiet place to make your plan.
Your mind can focus and think more clearly this way.

Every individual has his unique perception of a well-made plan.  There are no specific rules in making it.  But in case you're in a tight situation, let me give you some tips.

  1. Write down your objective.  This is a precise definition of your target.

  1. Brainstorm the strategies & tactics you will employ to accomplish your objective.

  1. Assess the advantages & disadvantages of carrying out those strategies & choose those tactics where the pros outweigh the cons.

  1. Set a timeline or deadline in completing your mission.

  1. Make modifications & back-up plans in case Plan A doesn't work.

  1. As your plan evolves, you will gain experience.  Learn from your mistakes.

Most important of all, don’t delay. Start applying what you have learned today, and have lots of great time!

Helpful Tips to Overcome Procrastination

Helpful Tips to Overcome Procrastination

Many among us, on many instances, have the habit of putting
aside to a later time or day some things that needs to be done
or acted upon like a project, work, job, or duty. For purposes
of discussion, we will confine ourselves to procrastination on
repair works typically at home. It equates to other
circumstances as well.

Procrastination is one habit that is hard to beat. We
procrastinate for various reasons:

1. When we think that the work that needs to be done can
afford to wait or be delayed.

2. When we are busy with something else we think is more
important.

3. When we do not like the work involved or when it is
difficult to do.

4. When we are not sure if the work that needs to be done
will be effective.

5. When the things needed in the work are not yet available
or incomplete.

6. When we forget about it.

And many other reasons like laziness or a combination of the
above.

Hard to beat as it is, we stand to gain more and virtually
loose nothing if we overturn this habit.

Check out these helpful tips:

1. When we think that a work can afford to be delayed, it can
also afford not to be delayed. By having the work done without
further delay, we feel a sigh of relief making the load of work
on our back lesser or lighter, which eventually makes us feel
better.

2. After being busy with something more important and you have
time to spare, this spare time can be used to attend to the
things on the pending list.

3. Delaying work that is difficult makes the work even more
difficult. A leak on the roof may not be harmful if it doesn't
rain; but once it rains, water goes into the house resulting
in wet floors and carpets and eventually, the extent of
damage could be more than can be imagined.

4. When we are not sure if work that needs to be done will be
effective, we must seek advice from people who are more
knowledgeable on this field. Procrastinating won't help.

5. Delayed work due to incomplete materials will remain delayed
unless we fill in the incomplete items. Again, procrastinating
won't help.

6. Make a list of all pending work in the house and post it on
the refrigerator door to constantly remind us about them.

Bottom line is:

We may feel lazy at times and tend to delay some work that
needs our attention. It's understandable that 'starting' to
get a job done is the most difficult part, but once you have
started, half of the job is already done and the second half
will be easy.

Every time you feel like procrastinating, picture yourself as
the job that needs to be done - like a prisoner wherein
justice being delayed results to justice being denied.

The Art of Adapting to Change

The Art of Adapting to Change

One of the main reasons that may hinder us from reaching our
innermost goals and desires is our inability to be flexible.

This fact may be hard to swallow, but it's true.  We do
everything we can to eliminate any type of suffering in our
lives, yet challenges and pressures can bring out the best
in us.

If you have been burdened by mistakes in the past, learn from
them, forget about them, and move on.  Some people tend to
focus on how bad their lives have been due to these mistakes.
As a result, they remained stuck in their miserable lives.

Treat your mistakes as lessons, and apply them as learning
references in your future endeavors.

So what if you invested in a business and you lose a ton of
money?  In this situation, some people would remain deeply
discouraged for a long time that their personal lives are
being affected negatively.  They can't eat well and they
just stare at the ceiling all night long, thinking how this
bad incident happened.  Furthermore, they would probably vow
not to venture into new opportunities again.

You don't have to be like them.  If you're afraid to fail,
then you risk all your chances to achieve your goals in life.
Try again; but this time, be more careful and use your past
mistakes as guide maps.

Look at it this way.  If you try, at least you get a 50%
chance of getting what you want.  But if you did not try
at all, you have absolutely no chance of attaining your
desires in life.  It's a no-brainer.

But when you try, make sure you follow through.  I've met
so many people who have accepted my proposal to write
reports for me, but most of them would stop right in the
middle of their work and quit.  They have the drive to
start, but they lack the motivation to go through all the
difficulties.  Yes, this is another fact of life.  Those
who persist may have some hell of a time at present, but
they shall have the last laugh.

Let's fast forward into the future.  Let's say you did try,
you followed through, and you succeeded. Congratulations.
So you became wealthy by reaping the fruits of your labor.
This does not mean you'll stay in that situation for good.
Problems may rise again, so always be ready to adjust to
the current situation.  The only thing permanent in this
world is change.

If you need to sacrifice something for a better cause,
then do it.  If you have to miss your favorite show on
TV or if you have to deny your friends' invitation to go
out on a Saturday night so that you can devote more time
to those activities that will lead you closer to your
goals, so be it.

You may encounter difficulties. You may receive criticisms.
You may even be regarded as being "different" or "strange"
by other people.  Don't let them discourage you.  Just
keep on striving, and success will be yours for the taking.

Wiping Out Obstacles to Goal Achievement

Wiping Out Obstacles to Goal Achievement

Life is an obstacle course. It is normal to encounter obstacles in the pursuit of a goal. Actually, it is expected to pop up once in a while, causing delays or revisions to one’s plans.

However, when obstacles start to become a nuisance to the point of almost putting a stop to one’s goal; or worse, making one completely abandon his/her goal, a think over becomes a necessity.

Here are some helpful, tested pointers to keep one’s attention focused in achieving a goal:

  1. First and foremost: “ Think positive.” This means: “Do not quit.” Especially when one is midway in working for a goal, there should be no room for quitting. To quit is tantamount to going back to the starting line of goal accomplishment. That is time, energy, money, and a whole lot of things wasted and lost. It is more costly to quit than to find a solution to the problem, not to mention the frustration one feels.

  1. Keep a clear, open, and tense-free mind, ready to receive new ideas. Focus and concentrate. Think on a wide scale manner, open for options (even unconventional ones) to eliminate the obstacle.

  1. Persist and persevere. Exhaust every possibility even to the point of trial and error (if doubtful), just to test a solution to correct the problem.

  1. Simulate. Try to picture in the mind a possible solution to solve the obstacle.

  1. Get assistance from other people who may be more knowledgeable on the work being done. They may be able to help. Their suggestions might not necessarily be the right or exact ones, but they may trigger new ideas in finding the right solution.

Consider this scenario: Let’s say you thought of a new product and you are confident this product will be sellable once it hits the market. You tell a friend about it, but your friend says otherwise that it will be a
flop. Your friend tells you why it will be a flop and his/her reason is: “if the product will be a success, how come nobody’s doing it?” So you decide to forget about your new product because of your friend’s comment. This scene is repeated many times all over the world.

The lesson: Be firm in your belief. Follow your heart’s desire.

Valuable Tips to Save More Money

Valuable Tips to Save More Money

Many people earn wages just enough to supply their basic necessities. But if you truly want to be financially secured, you have to acquire more money than what you’re spending – money that you can invest in a business or in other ventures that can propel you to financial freedom. To be able to do this, you have to start saving early in life.

Here are some pointers regarding saving money:

  1. Set a minimum amount to be saved. Savings are not meant to cover bill payments should one fall short of cash. They are intended   for financial security. A little savings, in time, will become big; and it can be used as investment capital to earn more. Question: “Where will I get the cash I need should I fall short of it?” The answer: “Find other means of earning extra income, say a weekend part-time job. Any excess cash from one’s part-time job can be added to your savings.

  1. Shop only for items needed, not for products that you wanted to buy on impulse. Think first before you purchase. Don’t fall prey to bargains not needed. It is not suggested that one should starve or be in a pitiful state. As a matter of fact, one can reward himself/herself once in a while for accomplishments made.

  1. Review one’s lifestyle. Change or scale down habits that seem to be not-so-wise spending. For instance, frequent eating in restaurants which is more expensive than homemade cooking can be lessened. Taking the bus or train when possible, instead of driving one’s own car, can save on gas and parking fees. If one have to drive his/her car, try car pooling with officemates or neighbors; thereby sharing on expenses.

  1. Check your regular monthly bills on utilities like electricity, gas, water, telephone and ask oneself: “Where can I save?”

It may take a while to get adjusted to a lifestyle in the “savings” mode, even to the point of “little sacrifices.” Adapt a gradual, progressive change to save to lessen the impact of adjustment from the lifestyle one used to be accustomed to.

There are more ways of starting the path to a financially secured life by making use of one’s creativity.

Remember, little things mean a lot.

4 Amazing Tips To Successfully Persuade Anyone

4 Amazing Tips To Successfully Persuade Anyone

Having excellent persuasion skills is one of the most important
abilities to possess in today's fast-paced world.  We need the
support and cooperation of other people to help us in reaching
our goals.  The saying "No man is an island" is an undeniable
truth.

Here are some hot tips to effectively influence and persuade
anyone you desire.

1)  Enter their world.

You must understand the situation according to their point of
view.  Set aside your personal interests and concentrate on
them.

Just pretend that if you are them, what would you do?  What
would be your opinion?  Then take the appropriate action that
would be beneficial to them.

Copy them.  Observe how they act, how they speak, and how
they think.  If they rub their forehead while they think,
act like them. If they speak at a clear and slow pace, try
to do the same thing.  This is called mirroring.

In due time, the people you're mirroring will subconsciously
feel more comfortable with you.  It's as if they see
themselves in you.

However, you must proceed with caution.  Do not let them be
aware that you are copying them.  They might interpret it as
mockery and you'll just get into trouble.

2)  Be Friendly and Nice.

Smile to brighten up the day.  Make a sincere compliment to
raise their spirits.  Little things like these count a lot.

Make them feel that whenever they need help or just someone
to look up to, you'll always be there to lend a hand.  They
would tend to be more receptive to people that they trust.

If you want to ask your boss a favor, do everything you can
to please him.  Overdeliver and exceed his expectations.
Soon, he will notice your efforts and will be more than
glad to grant your request.

3)  Provide them with compelling evidence.

Explain to them how your ideas or suggestions could be the
most effective techniques to implement.  Show them undeniable
proof that you have the best product by way of testimonials,
before and after scenarios, and detailed comparisons against
your competitors.  Just make sure that all your claims are
true and verifiable.  Always maintain a good reputation.

4)  Meet their existing needs and desires.

People are self-centered.  They are initially concerned with
their own well-being before others.  If you can prove that
your proposal will provide more advantageous benefits to them
than to your own, then they will probably accept it.

If you could focus more on their interests, desires, needs,
and expectations, then you would satisfy their cravings for
attention.  Moreover, it would show that you really care
about them.  Mutual trust and respect would be established.

This is the most important thing to remember when persuading
anyone.  No matter how close you are to becoming like them or
how overwhelming your evidence is, if it does not satisfy the
"What's In It For Me?" test, your persuasion efforts will not
produce satisfactory results.  Always bear in mind how they
will benefit from your actions.

Surefire Ways to Attain Moneymaking Success

Surefire Ways to Attain Moneymaking Success

You have probably heard other people say that "Money isn't
everything" or "Money can't buy happiness."  They may be
right in some aspects; but it's not just about the money.

It's about having an ideal lifestyle - being able to have
control over your time and schedule, having no one ordering
you around, not having to look at the price tags every time
you go out shopping, and just enjoying the freedom that you
truly deserve.

But why do many people fail to achieve financial freedom?
Through experience, I have observed that they have limited
belief.

That's the problem with most people.  They have set up a
boundary in their minds.  This barrier stops any
possibility of surpassing the current limits of their
belief.

For example, many people would think that their boring
day job is all that they're good enough for.  They do
not like to think outside the box.  They do not grab
opportunities that are theirs for the taking. Fears
and doubts have been causing them to miss these golden
chances of a lifetime.

There
